Our AML and Verification Policy

We verify every player before money leaves our platform. This page sets out, in plain terms, what we check, when we check it, and what we need from you under the anti-money-laundering conditions of our Curaçao licence 8048/JAZ2025-389.

Our Commitment to AML Rules

Luckymate Casino operates under licence 8048/JAZ2025-389 issued by the Curaçao licensing authority, and that licence binds us to strict anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing obligations. We treat those obligations as part of how we run the business, not a box we tick once a year. Every account on our platform is subject to the same standards, whether you deposit £10 with a debit card or withdraw in Tether.

Our compliance programme is owned by a designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) who reports to senior management, maintains our risk assessment, and files suspicious activity reports with the authorities where the law requires it. We train our staff on AML awareness, review our procedures against evolving typologies, and cooperate fully with regulators and law enforcement in our licence jurisdiction.

When We Verify Your Account

Verification happens at three points: at registration, at your first withdrawal, and at any later point where thresholds or unusual activity trigger a review. At registration we run automated identity checks against independent data sources, so in most cases you will not notice anything. The full document stage comes before your first withdrawal, because under our licence we cannot release funds to an unverified player.

We ask for three things, and only three things in a standard check:

  • Proof of identity: a valid passport, driving licence or national ID card, showing your full name, date of birth and a clear photo.
  • Proof of address: a utility bill, bank statement or official government letter issued within the last three months at your registered address.
  • Proof of payment method: a photo of the debit card (with middle digits covered) or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name or account identifier.

How Verification Works, Step by Step

Documents are transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on access-restricted servers. Only vetted compliance staff can view them, every access is logged, and we never share your verification data with third parties except where the law obliges us to.

  • 1. Upload your documents through the secure verification area of your account, or send them via the email linked to your account.
  • 2. Our automated system checks image quality, expiry dates and data consistency within minutes.
  • 3. A trained compliance reviewer confirms the match between your documents, your account details and your payment method.
  • 4. You receive the result by email, normally within 24 hours and always within 72 hours of a clear submission.
  • 5. If anything is illegible or mismatched, we tell you precisely what to re-submit, so you never guess.

When We Ask for Source of Funds

For the large majority of players, identity and address checks are all we ever need. Where your deposits or play pattern exceed the risk thresholds set in our MLRO-approved policy, we may ask you to show where the money comes from. This is not an accusation; it is a legal requirement triggered by size, not by suspicion of you personally.

Typical triggers include cumulative deposits above our internal threshold over a rolling period, deposits noticeably out of line with your declared profile, or complex payment routing across multiple methods. Acceptable evidence includes recent payslips, a tax return or self-assessment, a pension or benefits letter, dividends or investment statements, or a solicitor's letter for a property sale or inheritance. We review what you provide in confidence, confirm in writing once we are satisfied, and return your account to full status.

How We Monitor Transactions

Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes through automated screening that flags unusual patterns for human review. We check that deposits come from a method in your own name, that withdrawal destinations match where the money came from, and that the size and rhythm of your transactions are consistent with a recreational player. Where something looks wrong, we ask before we act, unless the law requires immediate escalation.

We apply a same-method rule to withdrawals: funds go back to the same card, wallet or crypto address they arrived from wherever technically possible. Our limits are £5,000 per day and £20,000 per month, with e-wallet withdrawals processed in 0 to 24 hours, debit cards in 1 to 3 business days and bank transfers in 3 to 5 business days. Larger withdrawals may require a completed source-of-funds check before release.

What Happens If Verification Fails

If your documents are unclear, expired or inconsistent, we will contact you with specifics and give you a fair window, normally 14 days, to re-submit. Until verification completes, withdrawals remain on hold, although your deposited funds are always yours and are never forfeited for missing paperwork. If you do not respond within the window, we restrict the account to no further play, hold withdrawals pending identity confirmation, and reserve the right to close the account and return the balance to the verified source method.

If we find that an account was opened with false details, is linked to fraud, or exists to launder money, we suspend it immediately, freeze the balance and file a report with the relevant authorities. Decisions can be appealed by writing to our MLRO with supporting evidence, and we answer every appeal within 14 days. These measures protect honest players as much as they protect us.

How Long We Keep Your Documents

We retain verification records, transaction logs and AML-related correspondence for a minimum of five years after your account closes, because our licence conditions and anti-money-laundering law require it. During that period the same strict access controls apply as during your active membership. After the retention period expires, we delete or irreversibly anonymise the data, except where an ongoing regulatory or law-enforcement matter requires us to hold it longer. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold at any time by contacting [email protected].

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to send documents before I can deposit?

No. Registration uses automated identity checks, so you can deposit and play straight away. Full document verification is required before your first withdrawal.

How long does verification take?

Most clear submissions are reviewed within 24 hours, and always within 72 hours. If anything needs re-submitting, we tell you exactly what and why.

Can I withdraw to a different card or wallet than I deposited with?

No. Under our same-method rule, withdrawals go back to the same card, wallet or crypto address the funds came from, wherever technically possible.

Why are you asking where my money comes from?

If your deposits cross a threshold set in our AML policy, our licence requires us to confirm the source of funds. It is a size-based legal check, not a personal accusation.

What happens to my documents after my account closes?

We keep verification records for at least five years after closure, as the law requires, then delete or anonymise them. Access stays restricted for the whole retention period.
